01.

No-Cost TMS Consultation

Your journey to effective depression treatment begins with a free, no-obligation consultation.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

During your consultation, our patient consultant will review your medical history and discuss your current mental health concerns, answer any questions you have and help you complete any necessary paperwork. You can also begin your paperwork online to save time before your visit.

Insurance and Payment Options

Your consultant will review insurance coverage and explain payment options. Our office works directly with your health insurance provider to determine benefits. Because TMS is FDA-approved and clinically proven, most major insurance plans cover the cost of treatment.

If you don’t have insurance, we may be able to connect you with financing options to make TMS therapy more accessible. Not sure if your insurance covers TMS? Let us find out for you—our team handles all the details so you can focus on your care.

03.

Tailoring Your TMS Treatment to You

The first TMS therapy session is slightly longer than subsequent visits, typically lasting up to 90 minutes. This session is crucial for customizing your treatment to your unique anatomy and ensuring the most effective results.

Determining the Right Magnetic Strength

To deliver a personalized treatment plan, the doctor will perform a motor threshold test. This involves measuring the magnetic field strength needed to produce movement in your right thumb.

The results of this test allow Dr. Schwartz to identify the optimal coil placement for your prefrontal cortex, customize the magnetic field strength for your treatment and ensure that each session delivers the correct, effective TMS dose.

This individualized approach maximizes the efficacy and comfort of your TMS therapy.

02.

Is TMS Right for You?

The next step in your TMS therapy journey is a comprehensive evaluation with our psychiatrist, Dr. Jonathan Schwartz.

During this evaluation, Dr. Schwartz will:

  • Review your medical and mental health history

  • Discuss your current symptoms and treatment goals

  • Determine whether TMS therapy is a suitable option for you

If Dr. Schwartz finds that you are a candidate and ready to proceed, he will develop a personalized TMS treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals, ensuring the best chance for a successful outcome.

04.

  1. What to Expect During Your TMS Sessions

During your TMS therapy sessions, you will sit in a comfortable chair in a private treatment room. You will remain fully awake and alert while the TMS device delivers targeted magnetic pulses to areas of your brain that regulate mood. Most sessions last approximately 18–20 minutes.

Relax and Make Yourself Comfortable

You are encouraged to sit back and relax during your treatment. Many patients choose to read, use their phone, watch TV, or meditate. You are welcome to bring earbuds or headphones (non-metallic) to make your session more enjoyable.

What Do the Magnetic Pulses Feel Like?

The sensation is often described as gentle tapping on the scalp. Most patients adjust quickly, and the pulses are typically not painful. If you experience any discomfort, our team will make immediate adjustments to ensure your session is as comfortable as possible.

With each visit, you can focus on self-care and relaxation while the therapy works to improve your mood, energy, and overall well-being.
